Site Clearance in Paignton

Pre-construction site clearance to remove protected species of reptiles ahead of the hibernation period.

We recently undertook a site clearance for a large local house builder in a real hurry as the site needed to be cleared of reptiles, a protected species ahead of the hibernation period.

The total area that was cleared was over 12000 square metres. As well as felling all the trees on the site, we were required to soil strip the site to stop reptiles returning to the site. The entire project was undertaken in conjunction with an on-site consultant ecologist.

We were blessed with warm dry weather for the clearance, and thankfully there were no snap frosts that would have seen the project stopped. Several reptiles were found on the site and relocated to areas not affected by proposed construction.

The project went very well. The team worked alongside the Ecologist and together we completed the job both safely and productively.
