Dominic Scanlon - Consultant
Dominic Scanlon – Consultant – Dominic joined Devon Tree Services in 2004 as our Consultant. He provides specialist tree advice on a wide range of Arboricultural issues. He has over 14 years of industry experience and started his career carrying out safety inspections on large tree populations. Dominic was employed by Teignbridge District Council for 8 years specialising in trees in the planning system and tree safety inspections. He went on to work for Exeter City Council working in the Design and Development team. He is an experienced and keen Arborist and has excellent negotiation skills. His experience in local authority gives him a valuable insight into the workings of local councils. Dominic became a Fellow of the Arboricultural Association in 2005. Dominic can provide detailed advice on a full range of Arboricultural issues.
Jon Kiely – Consultant 
Jon Kiely – Consultant – Jon has been working with trees since 1993, primarily in the private sector. He has considerable practical experience having previously run a small tree care company based in South Devon. For the last 8 years he has been working as a consultant. He has surveyed thousands of trees for private land owners and various institutions such as English Heritage, Housing Associations, Local Authorities and M.O.D. He first met Dominic at college in Durham and has been working with Devon Tree Services since 2006. Having come from a different industry background he has made a positive contribution to the consultancy department. Jon specialises in Tree Risk Assessment and has recently launched a series of seminars aimed at tree owners and managers.
Simon Putt – Trainee Consultant/Surveyor 
Simon has worked in the industry for 10 years and joined Devon Tree Services in 2004. Previously he spent 2 years working as an arborist in the U.S.A., mainly removing large trees with the use of a crane. He studied at Merrist Wood College for 2 years and gained a National Diploma in Arboriculture, and he is now studying for the Technicians Certificate in Arboriculture. Simon has recently joined the Consultancy team, as a trainee Arboricultural Consultant, with responsibility for carrying out tree surveys and site monitoring.
Maggie Gilpin – Consultancy P.A.
Maggie has been with the company since 2005 and is personal assistant to Dom, Jon and Simon.
Maggie was also a previous employee of Teignbridge District Council working with Dom, specialising in handling applications for Tree Preservation Orders and Conservation Area notifications and therefore provides a wide range of knowledge of the planning process.
